How Hp Embrace Mobile Consumers ?

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has finally released a new product category for the mobile segment. How gait large companies by the products of PCs and servers in the mobile segment?

Met on the sidelines of the launch of the HP 7 VoiceTab "Bali" in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Thursday (19/06/2014), B. Todd Achilles, vice president of HP's Mobile Connectivity to say that HP committed to this product category with presenting different products.

What is distinctive? According to Todd, tablets similar products made in other vendors such as Samsung and Apple have a dependency on a WiFi connection, because it wants to pick up the HP tablet users who want to stay connected, to provide the tablet with a 3G or 4G connection.



"They (Apple and Samsung) does have a great product line, but here we see the connectivity is needed, so if the other offer WiFi connectivity, the HP product is equipped with a 3G or 4G connection, so it is appropriate for consumers who want to constantly connected," explained Todd.

Todd also wants to reassure consumers that although the HP tablet is a new product category, but he wants to know the product that consumers also have the same standard of quality production with other HP products, such as laptops, PCs, or printers.

Previously, HP already has a strategy to foray into the mobile realm by acquiring Palm with its WebOS in 2010. Yet over the development, the Android operating system was growing more rapidly.

That's why HP as it took a little longer than other brands to foray into the mobile market with its Android.

"But actually not very long, in the second half of 2013 alone we have released at least eight Android tablets globally," said Todd,

"And now we are entering the third wave with tablet products are flooding the market, so we released Slate and VoiceTab," he added.

Unfortunately, Todd would not comment further about the HP products that will be released in the future, including smartphones.

"We can not comment on other products in the future, but we affirm that we have a strong commitment in the mobile segment," said Todd.

HP's own tablet called by Ellya, Market Development Manager for Consumer PCs and Tablets, HP Indonesia, getting tremendous response from consumers in Indonesia in the IPO.

HP Slate Slate 6 and 7 were secretly introduced to the market in May 2014 HP and through distributors is recognized Trikomsel sold out.

"The tablet we got tremendous response from consumers, even Trikomsel himself does not think the product will run out," said Ellya.

However Ellya declined to reveal how many tablets have been sold HP through Trikomsel it.
